India is a magical place with captivating imagery. Hinduisms, religious rites, and red-letter days are stitched into the cloth of daily life. India’s immensity leaves people in awe of its mystical surroundings and is also populated by 1/6th of the World’s inhabitants.
It’s great history is traced all the way back to 2500BC on the Indus River where first acknowledged people started to dwell.
There was a big arrival of Moghuls in the 1500s from Central Asia, that kept successful rule of the North up to the middle of the eighteenth century. After that when the Moghul Kingdom weakened the British took over the entire sub-continent and India was run by new foreign ruler completely alone.
Formed in 1885 the Indian National Congress did not go far to individually but then Mahatma Gandhi started the notion of non-conformity with the British. But the congress itself was broken in two on the matter of Hindus and Muslims. The Muslims, in rule of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, took over a separate motherland and in 1947 the self-governing states of India and Pakistan came about. From then, India has been a democratic republic nation.
